Director Confirms His Flash Movie Will Be Different Version of Flashpoint

DC’s solo Flash movie has certainly gone through its developmental struggles, but it looks like the Scarlet Speedster film is finally racing towards actual production.

Director Andy Muschetti (IT Chapter Two) recently dropped some info on his vision of the film.

According to Muschietti, The Flash will be a “different version of Flashpoint than you’re expecting.” The Flashpoint in the comics sees Barry Allen going back in time to save his mother, which then creates a very different timeline where the traditional DC characters are changed in very interesting ways.

He continued talking about his involvement, saying, “What captivated me about the Flash is the human drama in it. The human feelings and emotions that play in the drama [of it]. It’s going to be fun, too. I can’t promise that there will be any horror [elements in it], really, but it’s a beautiful human story.” The Flash is scheduled to speed into theaters July 1st, 2021.
